After a little help from the sun today and a great forecast for tomorrow, we’re excited to say the 1/8 mile dragstrip is a GO this weekend!
Things are drying out enough for us to move forward as planned, but we still have some soft and muddy areas around the facility. Please be courteous of the conditions—especially during Friday Night Drags—and do your best to avoid any muddy spots in the pits and parking areas.
Let’s work together to keep the grounds in good shape so we can have a full weekend of racing!

After Tuesday’s 2 inches of rain and more off-and-on showers yesterday, the grounds at Coos Bay Speedway are pretty wet heading into this weekend’s drag racing action.
Our biggest concern right now is making sure we can safely get cars on and off the dragstrip without causing any issues from the parking and pit areas. We’ll be keeping a close eye on conditions throughout the day and will make a call later this evening on whether we’re good to go.

Get ready to kick off the second weekend of the 2026 racing season at The Strip at Coos Bay Speedway April 17-19!
We’re firing things up with Late Friday Night Drags under the lights, setting the tone for a full weekend of adrenaline on the NHRA 1/8-mile dragstrip. Then we’ll roll straight into Saturday’s action, keeping the momentum going with more side-by-side racing you won’t want to miss.
As we look ahead, we’re keeping a close eye on the weather for Sunday. With rain currently in the forecast, track officials will be evaluating conditions and may make the call to run one or two full events on Saturday to make sure racers and fans get the most out of the weekend.
