June 26–28 Drag Racing Weekend Canceled Due to Weather
Unfortunately, Mother Nature has other plans.
After closely monitoring the forecast throughout the week, Coos Bay Speedway officials have made the difficult decision to cancel this weekend's drag racing event scheduled for June 26–28. With off-and-on rain expected throughout the weekend, track conditions simply won't allow us to provide the safe and competitive racing environment our racers and fans deserve.
We know this is disappointing, especially after we were looking forward to getting two consecutive weekends of racing in, but the forecast leaves us with no realistic opportunity to complete the event.
We appreciate everyone's understanding and patience as safety will always be our top priority.
Thank you to all of our racers, crews, sponsors, and fans for your continued support. We look forward to seeing everyone back at Coos Bay Speedway next week for Wally Weekend and to celebrate the 4th of July. The dragstrip is back in action for another exciting weekend as Coos Bay Speedway is scheduled to host three straight days of racing on Friday, June 26 through Sunday, June 28.
After a fantastic weekend of drag racing, we're looking forward to making it two weekends in a row as racers from around the region return to battle it out on the eighth-mile. Whether you're chasing championship points, looking to test your combination, or just want to make a few passes, there's something for everyone this weekend.
As always, Mother Nature has the final say.
Track officials are keeping a close eye on the long-range forecast and will continue monitoring conditions throughout the week. A final decision regarding the weekend's racing schedule will be made on Thursday to ensure the best possible experience for racers and fans alike.
For now, we're optimistic and encourage everyone to make plans to spend the weekend at Coos Bay Speedway. If the weather cooperates, it's shaping up to be another action-packed weekend filled with fast cars, great competition, delicious food, cold drinks, and family-friendly fun.
