This year's fund raising money will go to www.sovo4vets.org
Here is their mission statement;
Mission

To fulfill President Lincoln’s promise “To care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan” by serving and honoring the men and women who are America’s Veterans.”

Southwestern Oregon Veterans Outreach, Inc. (SOVO) was formed to help bridge the gap between what is available and what is needed to assist in meeting the needs of our veterans and their families, to receive the benefits that are due them for their service to our country. Coos County Oregon has over 8,000 veterans and one County Veterans Service Officer.

SOVO maintains an office, staffed entirely by volunteers, veterans and people who love them, located at the Pony Village Mall, City of North Bend, Coos County Oregon. All activities take place at the office, where we provide a non-adversarial atmosphere so important to veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). The exception to this is that our Veterans Service Officers (VSO’s) or our Veterans Resource Officer (VRO) will respond to the veteran’s location, when the veteran is not able to come to the office. SOVO office hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday and by appointment on Saturdays

SOVO VRO and VSO’s are accredited and sponsored by the Marine Corps League and both are registered with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. SOVO currently has one VSO’s and one VRO, with additional persons in training.

SOVO services are available to any United States veteran or veteran’s family member. SOVO does not charge for these services. SOVO averages 1248 veteran contacts a year.

SOVO depends on donations and grants to operate this office; any financial help you can give will be greatly appreciated and is tax deductible as SOVO is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation.
